Farmington, ConnecticutThis challenging renovation project comprises the transformation of an undistinguished late 1970s pharmaceutical research building into a first-class university research facility centered around quantitative and qualitative approaches to genetics, human stem-cell research and developmental biology.
Relevant Project Information:- Renovated building will house the Center for Cell Analysis and Modeling (CCAM), part of the Department of Genetics and Developmental Biology, the Stem Cell Core facility, members of the Department of Neuroscience, and an animal facility.
- Faculty users include biologists, chemists, biophysicists, mathematicians, theorists, computer scientists and biochemists.
- In addition to extensive laboratory and lab support spaces, specialized equipment includes advanced imaging apparatus, and a major data center for analysis of enormous data streams.
- Radical transformation of the interior of this nearly windowless building includes adding hundreds of feet of skylights as well as new window openings.
