Senior Urban Designer/Project Manager
Goody Clancy’s award-winning planning and urban design practice seeks a talented and experienced urban designer/project manager with excellent design, verbal communication and writing skills. This is a senior-level position that requires significant experience managing mid- to large-scale downtown, mixed-use, transit-oriented development, waterfront, campus and/or similar projects, working directly with public and private clients, overseeing project teams, and guiding community process. In addition to exceptional urban design skills and experience, the successful candidate must be able to take primary responsibility for a project’s scope of work, schedule, budget, final products, and coordination with the client. The work environment is fast-paced and projects require travel.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates who possess the skills and can demonstrate experience in the following:
- strong design capabilities, including the ability to synthesize information from diverse disciplines (economic/real estate, environmental, transportation, engineering)
- successful management of all aspects of complex projects and teams including client expectations as well as administrative, technical, and financial components
- presentation/communication skills with varied groups including clients/potential clients, community groups and other project stakeholders
- synthesis and preparation of clearly written reports that communicate project objectives to both lay and professional audiences
- playing a leadership role in representing the practice/firm in public settings
- contributions (strategy, writing, etc) to successful proposals in response to RFQ/RFP
Position requires advanced degree in Urban Design and/or 7-10+ years professional experience.
