Poe Companies
Louisville, Kentucky
A master development plan for a new downtown neighborhood built on a 40-acre site along the Ohio River.
Project Highlights:
- Bordering an acclaimed new 80-acre park, RiverPark Place will play a key role in the ongoing transformation of the Louisville riverfront. The plan calls for 1,500 units of housing, a marina, restaurants, a health club, stores arrayed around a central square, and other support facilities.
- The master plan lays out a sequence of buildings and open spaces along a public, riverfront promenade—a character-defining symbol of the new district. A carefully imagined network of pedestrian-friendly streets helps create a strong sense of place and tie the buildings, promenade, and open spaces together.
- With planning complete, the Poe Companies selected Goody Clancy, in association with K. Norman Berry Associates, to design the first phase of development, for which site preparation is under way.
