Planning to guide a new generation of investment in programs and improved campuses for the state's Pioneer Valley.
Project Highlights:
- Working with DCAM, the state Board of Higher Education (BHE), and four institutions, Goody Clancy created comprehensive, individualized campus master plans for Greenfield Community College, Holyoke Community College, Springfield Community College, and Westfield State College.
- Westfield State attracts students from across the commonwealth with its small classes and attractive park-like campus. Substantial enrollment increases, however, have left the college pressed for instructional and office space. Other challenges include growing demand for parking and a need to strengthen pedestrian connections, particularly between two parts of the campus separated by a residential neighborhood.
- Planning processes at each campus have engaged students, faculty, staff, and administrators, as well as key figures at BHE and DCAM, and will result in a unified and prioritized capital-investment list for the four colleges.
